Adam has worked in environmental management in Victoria for over 20 years coordinating teams and projects in ecology, community engagement, crown land reserve, bushland, threatened species, water, energy and waterway management. This has included 11 years in local government, 6 years with a Victorian Government Catchment Management Authority, 5 summer seasons in National Park management and 3 years with a Victorian local government greenhouse alliance (South East Councils Climate Change Alliance) researching low income energy efficiency. He currently is employed by Mornington Peninsula Shire as Coordinator: Climate Change.
Adam has a Masters (with a distinction) in Social Science (Environment & Planning) (RMIT), Grad. Dip. in Planning & Design (Planning and Env) (Uni. of Melb.) and a Bachelor of Science. In 1999 Adam initiated and participated in the design of a sustainable house which he had constructed by a local builder and now lives in with his family.
