Gene McGlynn is a General Manager in AusIndustry, part of the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science. In this role, he has managed a range of programs to support small businesses, community groups, councils and low income households to reduce energy use and costs. He also manages the Clean Technology Programmes, facilitates industry participation in the Emissions Reduction Fund, and is involved with the implementation of programs supporting Smart Cities, growth of small businesses and international cooperation on science and innovation.
Gene has worked extensively on energy and climate change issues in a range of public service departments, at the OECD in Paris and at the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels. He has also worked on integrating environmental and economic perspectives in policy making.
Gene has a BA in Economics from Haverford College in the USA and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
