Jeremy Tarbox is a Project Officer in the Markets and Finance team of the NSW Office of Environment & Heritage. He will speak about how researchers can provide data to inform policy makers, and in particular to expand and update the NSW Government’s Energy Savings Scheme (ESS), which includes incentives for residential energy efficiency upgrades.
Jeremy is a chemical engineer with 9 years of industry experience. He’s also worked on market access projects in international development. In 2015 he joined OEH and updated residential activities in the ESS to include gas savings; gas became an eligible fuel in 2016. Updated activities included glazing or film for windows and doors; ceiling, under-floor and wall insulation; draught proofing; and showerhead technologies. He also developed new activities for replacement of electric and gas water heaters with high efficiency gas water heaters; and installation of high efficiency gas space heaters.
